Konstantin Polyansky (1901-1973) - a famous domrist, director of the ensemble. Born in Kharkov, early engaged in music, in 15 years old he gathered his his first balalaika band, which toured the South of Russia for several years. After the events of 1917, Polanski was forced to emigrate from Russia. In 1918, Konstantin escaped to Constantinople, gathered another Balalaika Orchestra from former compatriots and performed with them on ships of Messadzheri line. In 1923 Polanski arrives in New York. The young musician wrote a lot for the radio, television, took part in the music for sound films. In the period from 1927 to 1972 Konstantin Polyansky performed in such famous Russian restaurants in New York as "Russian Art", "Balalaika", "Two Guitars", "Three" and others. In addition Kostya Polanski has collaborated with such renowned artists as Theodore Bikel, Sasha Polinoff, Ala Yunakovsky and others.
