Band, 1992-2006 BE
Pop
Belgian band founded in 1992. Members are Rudolph Hecke (songwriter) and Meredith Vedts aka Meredith (vocals). When producer Eric Melaerts heard the first demo of "Fall Into Dreams" he was convinced the song could be a hit. Together they started working on the song which was finally released as the first and well-succeeded single of Pop In Wonderland. In 1994 they met Peter Vanderhallen who signed the band to his label Creastars Europe. Meanwhile Rudolph and Meredith had become a couple and Meredith was pregnant. This inspired Rudolph to write the song 'Grow A Baby!' which was their first release on Creastars Europe. The child was named 'Moon-Ray', this was also the title of the B-side track on "Beautiful People", guest starring Melanie Safka. Rudolph created the typical Pop In Wonderland sound, psychedelic merry poptunes, together with the team of 'Top Studio' producers Eric Melaerts, Ronald Vanhuffel and Peter Gillis. The band was a local success-story that lasted to 1997 when relational problems made them separate. In 1999 Rudolph formed a new band 'Kite' with singer 'Kristel Rombouts' and later he starts the 60's, flower power, glamrock project The Incredible Time Machine where Meredith has been seen doing some guest vocals. 10 Years after the breakup (2006/2007) the record company wants to release a 'Greatest Hits' of Pop In Wonderland. For the occasion Rudolph and Meredith also decide to release a new single 'Bubbles Of Time'.
