Band,
Singer of Alternative
The Press Gang, formed in late 2006, is a mixture of Punk, classic Heavy Metal, Riff driven Hard Rock, salt air, dirt, and kitchen parties all in one. 3/4 of the band hails from the East Coast and the other, land locked Alberta. Lead Singer/rhythm guitarist and founder Colin McCulloch is from Cape Breton, NS. Bass Player Ronnie Keats, from Newfoundland. New Drummer Derek Lindzon orginally from Toronto and Kentville NS, and lead Guitarist Chad Laing from Calgary, Alberta. This mix of coast & prairie, salt water and dust, has bred something sweet and unique, otherwise known as “The Heavy”. The band has a diversity now that works well with it's current treatment of the older material as well as new songs. Laing brings with him experience bands such as Sufferance, Scopes Monkey Trail, and Weapon. New Drummer Derek Lindzon brings experience from The Fed Pennies and jazz drumming, Bass player Ronnie Keats Molotov Smile, and Colin McCulloch, The Feldippians and Hail Damage. Opening for such acts as Nashville Pussy, The Supersuckers, SNFU, Guttermouth, The Dreadnoughts, Knucklehead, and The Mahones, along with playing alongside many of Calgary's local heavy hitters, The Press Gang is moving onward and upward.
