Press release: It is with a heavy heart we all woke up on Monday with the news of David Bowie's passing. Primitive Reason were planning on releasing an EP entitled "The Heroes EP", this Friday - featuring a cover of Bowie and Eno's "Heroes" along with three other tracks. The release will of course go ahead, but with an entirely different focus. Recorded last winter at Tino Dias' Input Studios in Ericeira, and mixed this past December by Miguel Ferrador at Blim Records, this cover version of "Heroes" was originally tracked for a movie teaser, but was re-directed to this EP release on Kaminari Records, Primitive Reason's label. The EP is an homage to human courage: "from the courage of refugees fleeing the Syrian war zone, to the courage needed to face cancer in the eye, every human being that chooses to be a good person must help the next, whether it be a neighbor or a foreigner; and we must understand that his humanity and availability to do good is essential in today's world. We must fight against the prejudices that plague our human race." The "Heroes" cover (full version and radio edit) feature three main voices: Abel Beja and Guillermo de Llera from Primitive Reason, and guest vocalist Neil Leyton, along with Tino Dias on drums, Joana Beja on piano and backing vocals by Catarina Pinho and Joana Beja. The "Heroes" EP will also feature additional tracks by Neil Leyton, Primitive Reason live with Ana Stilwell, and the debut single release by The High Djinn, new project featuring Guillermo de Llera and Abel Beja. It will be digitally released worldwide on Friday, January 22, with a portion of proceeds going to cancer research.
