October 23rd, 2015 marks the Portuguese release date for Primitive Reason’s “Walk Inside: the singles collection”, the first compilation the band has released in its 20+ year history. Pioneers in the crossover genre, mixing rock, rap, and reggae, the band formed in Cascais in 1993 and released their first album in 1996. This collection spans the singles released since then, starting with the hit “Seven Fingered Friend”, crossing over to America where Primitive Reason resided from 1999-2002, returning to Portugal with another hit-single “Kindian” and culminating in the Basssy Bob Brockmann mixes of “Set Your Ash Down”, from 2012’s “Power to the People” album, as well as the newly-released single “Walk inside” which lends its title to the collection. The album is released via the band’s own label, Kaminari, and will be distributed in Portugal by SONY. It includes remastered versions of the singles from the first three albums, as well as a new master of “El Caballero” and the remaining tracks: 1. Seven Fingered Friend (remastered) 2. Walk Inside “Walk Inside” is an invitation, not just to the Primitive Tribe of fans to revisit these special songs, but also to entirely new generations of fans to come and discover Primitive Reason. Entre 1996 e 2013, começando com uma cassete, lançaram seis álbuns e vários EPs, sempre consistentes, sempre originais. “Walk Inside: The Singles Collection” reúne, pela primeira vez, os singles das várias fases da carreira de Primitive Reason, convidando a entrar dentro do seu universo, que desfila em ordem cronológica trilhando vários caminhos, de Cascais ao mundo. Apresentando novos “Masters”, remasterizados, dos primeiros três álbuns, a colectânea abre com o primeiro grande hit de Primitive Reason, “Seven Fingered Friend”, e não olha para trás faixa após faixa, passando por “Kindian” e culminando com o novo single “Walk Inside”, misturado em Nova Iorque por “Bassy” Bob Brockmann, produtor e mixer premiado com vários Grammys (The Fugees, Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, Bob Dylan, Herbie Hancock, Santana, Sting, entre outros). Os Primitive Reason sempre foram uma banda de culto – primeiro entre os seus fãs, a Primitive Tribe, e segundo através dos inúmeros músicos que influenciaram ao longo dos anos e que hoje lhes reconhecem o mérito artístico e pioneiro que só pode ser conferido às bandas e artistas que permanecem “underground”: aqueles que optam por percorrer caminhos menos comuns, exploratórios, e verdadeiramente “alternativos”. É isso que esta coleção de singles, este convite ao conhecimento e partilha, faz sentir: música jovem, irreverente, contestatária e cheia de vida. Uma verdadeira celebração, tal como o concerto “Celebration” que encheu o São Jorge o ano passado, e onde Guillermo de Llera saudou os anos de percurso da banda com a exclamação, “Venham mais 20!!!”
