Band, 1968-1975 GB, Exeter
Rock
Formed in 1968 at Exeter University, Exeter, UK, as a loosely-based artistic co-operative. Serious tensions between fringe theatre and rock priority, together with buslness hassles, led to a break-up in December 1971. A new group simply called Principal Edwards was formed in 1972 by three of the original musicians, who were joined by Richard Jones and then by Nick Pallett and Geoff Nicholls. The group eventually disbanded at the end of 1974.
