Project Gamma is the name of a music project that first appeared in public in 1995.
The musical head behind this project is Volker Flottmann from Versmold. He has been infected since the late seventies of the last century with the virus of electronic music - but initially only as a listener. At some point, at the end of the 80s of the last century, the desire for more than just listening intensified, he wanted to actively experience his music, make it easy. One day a "Kawai K4" stood next to the quite impressive record and CD collection "suddenly and unexpectedly for the environment".
So the domestic audio system was expanded by a 12-channel mixer and the former youth room to the first improvised studio, you took what was there and the neighbors took it so, maybe you just listened to the sounds of a new superstar...
It was tinkered and experimented in the following years and the acoustic "fleet" grew slowly, but steadily. Somehow, such a 12 m² room in addition to a bed and other furniture of everyday life are housed, in the long run not suitable as a creative cell. It started the search for the first studio rooms and they found themselves on an old renovated and also isolated hayloft, unfortunately without heating. (which drove up the electricity costs especially in winter.) Music could be made here at any time and innumerable improvised masterpieces were created that never really found their way out of the rooms. There was a lot of recorded on analog tape and copied, which was popular with friends and acquaintances.
