A.k.a. Phurpa
Purba is a musical and theatre project formed 1996 in Moscow. Their music is based upon the ancient sacral ceremonies of Bon tradition (pre-Buddhist religion of Tibet) and four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The musicians play authentic Tibetan traditional instruments, use overtone singing as well as musique concrete, noise, electronic, drone, industrial and ritual performance. In 1999 recorded 2 albums.
