Purgatory was an American heavy metal band from Tampa, Florida, formed in 1985 by Jon Schaffer. The group recorded 2 demo's; "Psychotic Dreams" (1985) and "Horror Show" (1986). Purgatory changed it's name to Iced Earth in 1988.
