The vocal polyphonies of this CD have been recorded in the North East of Zaïre, in forest camps situated at the edge of the forest and in villages, at different times of the year between 1986 and 1990. The choice propsed brings together for the first time some aspects from the three Mbuti groups: the Sua, Efe and Asua. This selection simply wishes to offer an idea of the variety and style differences existing within a small part of the repertory of the Ituri Pygmies. This recording was made possible with the contributions of the Institute of National Museums of Zaïre, the Lacito-CNRS, the Free University of Brussels and the Ituri project of the Harvard University. Produced on the occasion of the exposition "Pygmées?", at the Dapper Museum (Paris, France), May 30 - Sep. 29, 1991. Made in France Packaging: standard jewel case with 20 page booklet, including French and English liner notes.
