Album UK 1952 on Columbia label
Classical (Romantic)
This is the first edition or "ED1" of this release. Later editions had a different front cover with a printed ribbon or 'rope' on the left side of the front cover. The record itself has a flat edge and not a beaded rim; the labels both have the 'deep groove' pressed in the paper of the label. As is the case with many of the early releases in Columbia's acclaimed 33CX-series, the cover has sturdy, dark blue, canvas style tape on all three closed edges of the cover to prevent seam splits; a fact that's often mistaken for seams that have been 'taped up'. The record itself is housed in a thin paper sleeve that closes like an envelope and has "Made In England" printed on it [see images]. Year of release is not printed anywhere on labels or cover; year of release was taken from John Hunt's book, the "Columbia 33CX Label Discography".
