Queen's Cross Church, Aberdeen, was opened for worship in 1881. A leading city church, it has always maintained a strong musical tradition. The regular choir form the back-bone of larger choral groups of varying sizes which are assembled by invitation for the demands made by more ambitious events which have included to date such works as Haydn's Creation, Duruflé's Requiem and Britten's St. Nicolas. The Chamber Chorus consists of approximately 36 voices, made up by the choir itself, and other singers drawn both from the church membership and from Aberdeen and the surrounding areas.
