A.k.a. Lisa Counts
Original and legendary Zulu Queen. Pioneering hip hop artist and one of the first female MC. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY. She started with the Mighty Zulu Nation in the 70’s after meeting Afrika Bambaataa. In 1979, she performed with Cosmic Force and released the first recording of the Zulu Nation : Zulu Nation Throw Down She performed the legendary “limo scene” in the movie Wild Style in 1982. She was also a member of the female group Us Girls. Today, Lisa Lee is an active board member at Cornell University, NY, for the Hip Hop Collection and still sharing her knowledge of this culture.
