Quiet Loner's third album is a collection of contemporary protest songs recorded in May 2012 in front of a live audience at Sacred Trinity Church in Salford, an area steeped in radicalism. The album is seething with disgust and shot through with melancholy at the state of our coalition-led nation. The powerful songwriting combines commentary on the excessive force against dissent with historical stories that chime with present-day anti-war sentiment, such as the letters written by songwriter Matt Hill's great-grandfather to his wife from the Somme.
