Band,
Jazz and Rock
Quinteplus was formed in early 70s by two musicians from Jorge López Ruiz band, ie. drummer Carlos "Pocho" Lapouble (also member of El Cuarteto Del Chivo Borraro and Gato Barbieri), followed by trumpeter Gustavo Bergalli The band was a short lived jazz unit that grew out of Agrupación Nuevo Jazz (New Jazz Collective), a loose organization in the late '60s that provided an open environment to experiment with Argentine folk genres in a jazz mode. Sparked by Cannonball and Nat Adderley and especially keyboardist Joe Zawinul, five members formed Quinteplus and cut one incredible album that quickly sunk into the shadows until this glorious reissue in 2007 by the folks at Vampisoul. Members: Carlos Pocho Lapouble, Jorge Gonzalez, Jorge Anders, Gustavo Bergalli
