A.k.a. Rómulo Varillas Talaviña
Born: Callao, Peru, August 31, 1922 Died: Lima, Peru, March 31, 1998 He was part of the remembered group "Los Embajadores Criollos" where he was first voice and second guitar along with Alejandro Rodríguez and Carlos Correa. This group appeared in the 40's being protagonists of the so-called Golden Age of the Creole Song. He collaborated with the group called "Los Hermanos Varillas" composed by his brothers Ramón and Aurora in the 50's. He also integrated the duo "Los Dos Compadres" with the guitarist Fernando Loli being a voice of remembered songs like "El Pirata". When Romulo left the group he began his solo career recording a production of boleros in which he emphasizes the subject "Like two strangers". He traveled to the south of the country to make presentations in Tacna and later moved to Arica where he resided until at the end of the 80's he suffered a stroke that left him still until his death
