Single AU 1958 on Planet Records label
Brass (Military)
Laminated picture sleeve, the notes state the following: "The Military band The R.A.A.F. Central Band is a Military Band and must not be confused with a brass band, which is a completely different ensemble altogether. Briefly a Military band is a symphony orchestra without strings. The major difference is that a Brass Band is essentially brass instruments, trumpets, tubas, trombones, euphoniums, basses, etc. Whereas in addition to their brass section, a Military band has clarinets, oboes, full percussion sections, including vibraphone, timpani, etc., bassoon, hard, saxophones, etc. In Australia and N.Z. the Brass Band holds much higher place in the community than most countries in the world, and so the confusing of the two musical ensembles, though hard to understand, is extremely common in these countries. The R.A.A.F. Central Band is among the best Military Bands in the world." Publishers: Chappell, Davis
