A.k.a. Rachel Rush (2) Trick No Tricks
'Designer Rachel Auburn started out with a stall in Kensington Market in the early '80s. Catching the interest of many including Susanne Bartsch she came to New York in 1984 to showcase her talent with other British designers for New London New York. They then went on to Japan which created even more interest for them as designers. In 1985 Rachel and Leigh Bowery opened a stall at Hyper Hyper in Kensington Market called Spend Spend Spend, the title of the store. Known for its cutting edge fashion it soon made its way to fashion magazines such as the Face and I D. Rachel herself soon became a regular gracing the pages of London's top fashion magazines. Leigh Bowery asked Rachel to play at his club, Taboo. She was such a hit that she immediately became Taboo's resident DJ. With enormous popularity and known for her high energy mixing, campy disco & glum rock-ish type tunes she soon became an enormous hit all over Europe along with the London trendy elite scene. Playing such clubs as Heaven, Delirium & Café-dee-Paris this led Rachel to re-mixing and producing. She was the first female DJ to play in China and Johannesburg (a gig of over 17,000 people). In December 1999 Rachel was voted one of the top 100 DJs by DJ magazine. She then created her own record label which continues to product dance music successes. She continues to flourish creatively as a mother, DJ, producer and all around talent.' - Nicky London
