English musician, born 16 May 1971 in Fareham, England, UK. Rachel was the lead singer of Slowdive, a band from the 'shoe gazing' scene, founded in 1989 and split in 1995. From the ashes of Slowdive, Rachel along with surviving members Neil Halstead and Ian McCutcheon created Mojave 3 which released their fourth album, 'Spoon And Rafter', in 2003. Waves Are Universal is her first solo album, released in 2004.
