Rachel Maclary, from Newark Delaware, is a flutist with the Air Force Band of Mid-America where she performs with the Concert Band and the Midwest Winds. Sergeant Maclary received her Bachelors of Music in Flute Performance from the Hartt School in West Hartford CT in 2009 where she studied with John Wion and Janet Arms. She has appeared as a feature soloist with the Miami String Quartet and the Newark Symphony Orchestra and has participated in summer music festivals in Houston Texas and Salzburg Austria. She has also won numerous awards, including 1st prize in the 2007 Delaware Austrian American Society Competition and 2nd prize in the 2009 Chicago Flute Club Competition.
