South African roots folk group (read: alternatiewe boeremusiek) who were formed in around 2005 following writer/journalist Rian Malan's research into 1930s Afrikaner-rebel musician David de Lange who had translated Black American jazz into Afrikaans. Current lineup: Ian Roberts (Frontman/guitar/vocals), Alicia van Dyk (Vocals & accordion), Bradley Cooper (Drums), Barry Steenkamp (Bass), Wynand Davel (Violin), Friso Woudstra (Guitar). Former members: Lize Wiid (Vocals & accordion), Christine Roberts (Vocals), Frans Steinhobel (Banjo and guitar), Kaatjie Davids (Banjo)
