Radio Pirata was assembled by talented bass player, composer, arranger, and producer Rucco Gandía, who was joined by drummer Nitayno Arayoán González, percussionist Robert "Bobby" Trinidad, and guitarist Roberto Torres. The Puerto Rican band emerged in the mid-'90s as Rucco Gandía y Radio Pirata and soon achieved awards for Best Local Record and Best Rock Band.
