.Guitaar Solo #1/ Super Sabre (1994): Lee Ranaldo was curating a concert series at The Cooler, in NYC, and invited me to play on it. I thought i'd play with some other musicians, but it turned out that i was supposed to play alone and would have to improvise. Doing it solo was new to me (this was 1994), it was a little scary. The room was packed, but when i got onstage, i knew it would be okay. .AE 1 live (1991): This concert was my first live appearance as Rafael Toral. The program was AER 4, AE 1 and AE 2. All those pieces were composed in 1987. Recorded in 1991 at Galeria Monumental, Lisbon. .AE 2 live (1991): Same as above. This recording was released in the original version of Sound Mind Sound Body, which i replaced with a studio version of AE 1 for the Moikai/ Drag City reissue. Recorded in 1991 at Galeria Monumental, Lisbon. .Creamy Burst live (1995): The original Creamy Burst track lasts 30 seconds, while the live version was about 30 minutes. I performed it only twice, with my friend João Paulo Feliciano. The sound is not so good, it was recorded on cassette with a very low level. I did my best to bring it back up. Recorded at Johnny Guitar, Lisbon, in 1995. .Solo Improvisation (1999): One of the few pre-Space Program improvisation recordings on guitar. Recorded at the Empty Bottle in Chicago, 1999.
