Album PT 2009 on Noise Precision Library label
Electronic (Abstract, Experimental)
.5a Electrode Oscillator NP take: Raw take at Noise Precision. The Electrode Oscillator is a portable twin cross-modulating square wave oscillator, whose circuit design i owe to Nicolas Collins. .5b Resonance Circuit live at ZDB: This is the second part of Space Study 5, recorded at its premiere at ZDB in Lisbon. .5c Radio: This track was intended to be the 3rd on Space Solo 1, but it wasn't quite right. I replaced it with "Bender", but on the CD tray, in spite of all the text revisions, the old title remained by mistake… it was recorded in Belfast at Sonic Arts Research Center, and this is actually a result of my equipment having been held at Paris airport, missing a connection flight. I performed that evening with materials found and prepared in that afternoon. .5d Echo-Feed NP takes 1 and 2: An instrument made of an empty delayed feedback circuit, running through a modular filter controlled by joystick. It’s the same kind of circuit i used on Cyclorama Lift in 1998 and before that on Liveloop in 1994. The short delay here allows for dynamic phrasing, typical of the Space Program approach and totally different from these earlier pieces. .5e Bender solo 1: From the same session as the Bender track on Space Solo 1. I found that to be a remarkable take for the degree of subtle control i could achieve. This instrument (technically called “modified MT-10 amplifier”) is the most chaotic, hard to control, unplayable thing i ever touched. It also delivers the most visceral and raw sound i ever produced.
