In an Instagram post by Tyrese, he is quoted as saying, " She's got something really special... her singing voice just moved me. Who is she?" The answer, Raiche! Born Raiche Othel Wright on January 07, 1996; a singer songwriter from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She began her singing career as a child, singing alongside her siblings and mother in church. Early on, Raiche's mother discovered that she had a unique sound all her own. On February 12, 2016 Raiche was signed to Genre Defying Entertainment. She is scheduled to begin her first regional tour and release her EP entitled, "Renditions," Spring 2016. "Renditions" is a collection of songs by a variety of artists. It presents an opportunity to journey into one world as described by Raiche, "Music is like one world, it unites people. Everyone can relate to it. It comes from the heart and soul." Her sound is exclusive and ethereal. A far cry from today's youthful pop sound, Raiche delivers a magnetic soulful charisma to her music. She hails from a tradition of Christian and Gospel music. Today she continues to enjoy performing Gospel Music along with Indie-Soul. She has her own style and twist within each genre of music she performs. On her first EP, she can be heard giving her own moving rendition of various covers and explains that her influences are artists such as Lauryn Hill and John Legend. She has been compared to Billy Holiday and Sade among others. The truth is, Raiche stands alone... Her musical talent is all her own and is truly an, out of this world, gift!
