A.k.a. Jules Auguste Muraire
French actor, originally a music-hall star, born December 18, 1883 in Toulon, France. With the help of Sacha Guitry, he became one of the "Sacred Monsters" of French cinema in the 1930s and the first half of the 1940s, becoming Marcel Pagnol's favorite actor. He died September 20, 1946 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France.
