Sarod maestro. Born 17th October 1932 in Bangalore. A child prodigy vocal performer, he graduated in literature and worked as Professor of English Literature in Bangalore. Subsequently moved north to Calcutta (Kolkata) where he commenced music training under Ali Akbar Khan. From 1995-2005 he was a member of the music department faculty at the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles. Has toured the world, and composed music for film scores.
