Spanish Percussionist. August 1970, Madrid. Ramón Porrina is the son of the singer Ramón el Portugués and grandson of Porrina de Badajoz, Ramón grew up surrounded by flamenco. He took part in numerous recordings including Camarón's, "Potro de Rabia y Miel" and Paco de Lucía's "Zyryab". He also toured with Joaquín Cortés, Antonio Canales, Gerardo Nuñez, Tomatito, Potito, Duquende and other great figures and companies of flamenco. "Echegaray Street" is the name of his own percussion group that he performs with on various albums as well as live, accompanying singers with flamenco cajons, djembes, and clapping. Their sound, based on flamenco percussion with flavors from other types of music represents a new and open path in modern flamenco.
