American guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer, engineer in various genres. In 1977, he met a French singer named Veronique Sanson, who hired him to go on tour with her to France. This was his first big gig, and he toured with her the next year as well. In 1979, Randy’s roommate was playing drums tor The Pointer Sisters and got him an audition. He got the job and played with The Pointers for 2 years, touring the US, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. In 1981, he toured Europe once again, this time with French artist, Johnny Hallyday. He was, and still is, huge in France. After that tour, it was back to the States for Randy and he found himself hitting the Southern California clubs once again, this time as a member of “The Patrol”. He also started working at a famous music store called Valley Arts Guitars in the San Fernando Valley where he did guitar repairs and custom work, while continuing to give private guitar lessons. He also taught at the Musicians’ Institute in Holly wood. In 1990, he joined a band called “Foolish Pleasure” and they did two albums together. Currently, Randy is Rockin’ Randy with nostalgia Rock ‘n Roll band “Sha Na Na” and also plays with 70′s pop band “Bo Donaldson and The Heywoods” (of “Billy Don’t Be a Hero” fame). He is a co-partner at Shut Up & Play studio in California’s San Fernando Valley where he produces, engineers and plays guitar and bass when not on tour.
