Randy Honea moved to Atlanta in 1980 and has been working in a variety of groups ever since. He was featured on the album "Touch The Feeling" by Jazz Crusaders drummer Stix Hooper. In 1987 Randy released his first solo album Still Life. He was also a featured artist on all of The "Jazz Flavours" CD compilations. Randy has been the opening act for such artists as Stan Getz, Wayne Shorter, and many others. He has performed and co-produced ablums with Jeff Sipe and "The Apartment Projects", "Live at The Brandy House" and "The Piedmont Sessions" available at www.abstractlogix.com. He is also featured on the CD "Atlanta Dogwood Festival 2001". In 2002 Randy was featured in the "Atlanta Jazz Showcase II" held at Spivey Hall. Randy is a regular performer at such venues as Churchill Grounds, Fernbank, The High Museum, as well as clubs and concerts. Randy has been teaching privately as well as two years at Georgia State Univeristy. Randy is currently working on multiple projects and has a new solo CD due out summer of 2006. He performs at various Atlanta venues with his own group as well as a side man with others.
