Jamaican dancehall singer, residing in Switzerland between 2001 and 2008. Curt Chalmar Crutchley a.k.a. Ras Charmer (Ancient chant with a natural charm) was born in the parish of Kingston Jamaica. Ras Charmer signed to Togetherness Records in 1998 and later recorded songs like 'Stars,' 'Togetherness', while the hit song 'Mama" created a buzz on the airwaves, alongside the video. The track was also used as the soundtrack in the movie Rude Boys, it was from there a star was born. In 2000, he also performed at Sting (one of Jamaica's greatest one night show in reggae). Shortly after he left Togetherness Records for his first tour to Switzerland and returned there in 2002, to do more shows in Switzerland, Glasgow (UK) and even Trinidad. He recorded his debut album 'Rastafari Fufilment', later released in 2004. He then went on to do a tour in Johannesburg, South Africa in the same year. His second album 'Jah Carry Us Through' has hits like, "Worry Not', 'Bright Side' and 'Stress Free', with video. He later went on to tour the album in Europe, triggering his European fan base to grow rapidly. Ras Charmer has appeared at Rototom Sunsplash in Italy and Spain (2007-2010), whilst embarking on a 3 months tour of Europe, which ended in Surinam (2010). He returned to Jamaica to continue recording hit tracks like 'This is for Real', reaching No. 1 in two of Jamaica's Top 20 charts. The single was also responsible for Ras Charmer being nominated, as one of the 'Best come back artist 2010' at the prestigious EME Awards in March 2011. Ras Charmer embarked on a mini UK tour 2012 and was invited to Austria on 3 occasions, Jan/Aug/Nov 2013, to appear at live shows in Linz, Trautenburg and Vienna. He was also scheduled to perform in Jamaica at the Bob Marley Annual birthday Bash on 6th February 2013 to celebrate the life of The King of Reggae. Current singles released include, "Knowledge', 'We Can Bare', 'Mood for Love', 'Bigger Picture', 'On the Rise', (collaboration with Delly Ranx) and more. Ras Charmer is a trailblazer and continues to make hits no matter the time, venue or country. With over a solid decade and a half in the industry, he has perfected his skills with his eclectic range of music. His amazing delivery always ensures a guaranteed captivated audience worldwide.
