Raw Silk was a studio group assembled by producers Ron Dean Miller and Bert Reid, both former members of Crown Heights Affair. Valarie Pettiford performed with the female trio's "Do It To The Music" fame. Though her voice does not grace the record, she replaced the lead singer shortly after and performed all over New York as well as Europe.
