Bluegrass Bass player from Clay City, Kentucky. Founded The Bluegrass Meditations Born 10 Jun 1927 Died 10 Jan 2011 (aged 83) . He was born on June 10th, 1927 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the late Mac Bowling and Dealie Hoskins Garrison. He served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne during World War II in Germany. He was a musician. As a Bass Player, he won the 1969 Best Bluegrass Band and Bluegrass Music with the Cody MT. Boys at Old Fiddlers Convention in Durham, North Carolina. He had his own band called the Bluegrass Meditations. He was the first inductee in the Osborne Bros. Bluegrass festival Hall of Honor. He also has been known to have been on the Grand Ole Opry with Bill Monroe, Porter Wagner and String Bean and also played in the original Skaggs Family Band, Osborne Bros., and the original Stanley Bros. with Carter and Ralph Stanley. He has been playing music since he was twelve years old. .
