Album on Cambridge Records label
Classical (Baroque)
Each Sonata is on its own band. The movements of each are not separated into separate bands. The record label identifies Ray Toubman, Wilfred Burkler, oboes; John Miller, bassoon as soloists. The other participants are listed on the back cover as members of the continuo and are not otherwise identified on the labels. I suspect that John Miller (24) may not be the artist on this record. John Miller (24) is a bassoonist, but his biography has him as a member of the Minnesota Orchestra relatively recently. The performances here were recorded in February 1963 (Sonata V) and June 1963 (Sonatas IV and VI). John Miller(24) seems too young to have participated on this recording. The performances were recorded in Jordan Hall, Boston, Mass. Library of Congress No. R64-1363.
