Maestus got the idea to create "Realm of Algol" and started to record riffs with his keyboard in June of 2006 at his home. He later had a discussion with his longtime friend Hogath, who agreed to join the band and together they recorded songs. In December of 2006, bassist Loathsome (Belligerence) of Prague joined Realm of Algol, completing the band.
