Born: September 29, 1903, Nocona, Texas, USA Died: February 16, 1992, Los Angeles, California, USA Known as Mr. Texas, Redd was an American composer, author, singer, actor, and evangelist. Educated at the University of Oklahoma and a member of several dance orchestras, eventually leading his own. He wrote and directed "Redd Harper's Hollywood Roundup" for the Armed Forces Radio Service for five years, and became a worldwide evangelist.Joining ASCAP in 1954, his chief musical collaborators included Oswald Smith and Joe Rogers.
