Limited release of 1000 copies. Below from J-card insert: "The Reef Project is a way for me to explore music of many different genres and origins. When I started to produce my own music I wanted to not just approach it as a DJ making music. Music is my love and I wanted to seperated my DJing from the music I am creating. I wanted to be thought of as an artist and not just some DJ trying to capitalize on their name. The Reef Project may be me, but it is a different part of me then a lot of you are used to. I thought of the Reef Project a couple of years ago. I am a big fan of salt water aquariums and have had 2 or 3 of them set up in my life. I love watching the fish and how it had the soothing effect on your soul. I wanted the Reef Project to be sort of the same thing - soothing to the soul but also refreshing to the ears. The reason the name of this album is called "Star" is because I think you get the same feeling looking at the stars at night that you feel looking into the ocean. To me it is a mixture of emotions; tranquility, calm, but also this uneasy feeling of the unknown. I wanted this album to reflect all that. Stars are both in the sky and the sea. This is my tribute to them both. From the dark and ominous opening of "Black Star", to the frantic but soothing sounds of "Ruby Brittled Star", and finally to the melodic and beautiful "White Star". I think you will find there are many things out there for you to open your mind to. Many paths to follow and many places to go, and while you can only go to one at a time, there is no reason you cannot explore them all at your leisure. Jacob A. Ofilas"
