Musician of World, Pop and Folk
A top recording artist in his native Philippines, pianist Relly Coloma has fascinated people around the world with his music. He learned the piano from his mother at age five, and has carried his artistry from the Philippines to Canada and then to the United States. Relly recorded nearly 70 albums (many of them best sellers) for Villar Recording Company. He won Best Instrumentalist in 1970 and the Golden Record Award in 1971 at the Awit Awards, the Philippines' answer to the Grammys. Upon moving to Canada with his family, he cemented his relationship with Yamaha piano dealers, and won Yamaha Canada's National Electone Festival in 1974. That same year, he represented Canada at the International World Concour in Japan. Relly Coloma received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, and earned an Associate Degree in Piano from the University of the Philippines. He and his family live in Los Angeles.
