Remunjs are a parody band from the Dutch city Roermond, covering famous Ramones songs in their native dialect. The band first performed in their hometown on January 1st, 2009, as a joke. The joke caught on and on February 13 of that very same year, Remunjs released a homemade EP, entitled Wo Gaon Veer Haer. The lyrics of Remunjs are mostly about local affairs and getting wasted. The members of Remunjs are mainly from the doom stoner band Bitcho, formed two years earlier. Other bands these musicians played in include Sideshift Harry, Dreadlock Pussy (2), GooGooMuck, Valse Honden, Viberider and Ninkasi Jr. When performing with Remunjs, all band members dress up in Ramones-styled outfits, including black wigs and leather jackets. After remaining silent for several years, the band performed again in November 2017.
