Singer of Classical
Brazilian operatic singer active in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Born in Juiz de Fora, State of Minas Gerais, in 1935. Studied at the Conservatório Brasileiro de Música with Alayde Margarida, as well as with Nícia Silva at the Universidade do Brasil, Rocha took part in several contests of classical music during the 50s. In the mid-60s, Rocha started to work as chief director at Radio Tamoio-AM in Rio de Janeiro, and later moved to Radio Tupi-FM in 1974, where he remained as Musical Director until his retirement in 1986.
