RentAmerica were a hardcore trio from Goldsboro, North Carolina whose lyrics dealt with the environment, capitalism, and other stuff. They're perhaps most infamous for a show they played in Greenville, North Carolina in which they performed for a few seconds and then proceeded to fall to the floor and cry. They existed very briefly during the mid-90's, and their music can be seen as a very primitive form of emoviolence. Their drummer Ryan Wolfe and their bassist Waylon Riffs went on to form Facedowninshit.
