Electronic, Dance and Rock
A.k.a. Erich Martino, Mario Ponce, Humberto Polar, Leonardo Lambertini, Marco Chavez
Formed as the result of meeting each other during the rehersals of a previous project called Mongolia. The band finally decided for the name Réplica after some shows under the aliases of Default and Toy Division
Réplica is inspired by the idea that the future forseen in previous generations stayed as a romantic dream that never happened. "The Future Was Yesterday". Taking the sound of late seventies and early eighties electronica and cold atmospheric rock experiments as Low from David Bowie. Réplica is a contradiction between future and past in rock music made with electronic means.
Despite their low profile image and a considerable young career, Réplica has managed to collaborate with, being compiled by, or remix artists such as Client, Placebo, DJ Hell, Sexy Lucy, Sonido Lasser Drakar and Zoe(2). They also played as opening act for Colder, Client and Nitzer Ebb in Mexico.
Their first two singles Truth, Sorry (a collaboration with Client) and Cold are now on regular radio programming of mexico's alternative radio.
Réplica has been working simultaneously on electro-rock and instrumental and atmospheric soundscapes.
