Rock (Psychedelic Rock, Lo-Fi, Experimental)
"The events leading up to this show were not the greatest. We had been struggling with a faulty van for 2 days. It had actually broke down the minute we pulled into the burgeoning metropolis of delights. At any rate, the show was fantastic and in an underground sweatbox housed below, you guessed it, below a cafe called La Cantine. We played w/ some Portuguese math-rock bands that were very sweet. I'd blocked most of this show from my memory save the bunker heat but after listening back it sounds pretty righteous. Includes a wicked rendition of Spirit's "Dark-Eyed Woman". After the show we ended up in a midly terrifying squat on the outskirts of Paris that was in an abandoned medical laboratory of some kind. Full-blown bad vibes abound, complete w/ outhouse style-hole-in-ground WC. Matthew's friend from Estonia had brought us some Estonian liquor that tasted like Christmas and we were royally swilled by the night's end. Paris...what else...we saw the re-incarnation of Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix rolled into one Native American dude...and his messenger-of-time-mobile...dog shit everywhere....met a really enthusiastic Vietnamese auto-mechanic...."
