Redefining the word "remix", Mariaelena "RiRi" Garcia aka DJ Rimarkable™ is a renaissance woman indeed. A vocalist, lyricist, drummer, producer and DJ, her multi-talents have taken her to many stages. Truly mastering the DJ technique of “Reading the Crowd”, she has earned the moniker, “Rimarkable” after rocking international dance floors for more than 15 years. For over 15 years, she has played internationally at a wide range of events and venues from the Apollo Theater, the Michigan Womyns Musical Festival, CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival, to sharing the bill with such music industry greats as, Meshell Ndegeocello, Toshi Reagon, THEESatisfaction, Les Nubians, to private events for Rahsaan Patterson and Lalah Hathaway. She is a member of the all female-DJ squad of the infamous Ubiquita Worldwide Soundsystem. She currently co-promotes and holds residencies at two of NYC's hottest and most popular events, Sybarite Production's "arteRoTica" and Ubiquita's "the go in". DJ Rimarkable™ also takes on the roll of producer for her own work as well as for others. Her original work was featured in the off-Broadway production, "Where My Girls @?". She has remixed several bodies of work for such artists as, hip-hop artist, Invincible (EMERgence/PPP), folksoul artist gina Breedlove, and nu-jazz vocalist, Valerie Troutt. Ms. Garcias soundscapes also have reached the fashion runways of Tommy Hilfiger, Elle Magazine and Naomi Campbells Haiti Benefit and Fashion Week opener during NYCs Spring Fashion Week 2010. The former lead singer of the funk sensational, Detroit-based, Soul Power Experience Unlimited Band, who records under the name, Ri Ri Garcia, brought all genres together for her 2007 self produced project, "This Too Shall Pass". The stunning debut recording, proved to be a classic. It featured the underground smash hit single, "Get In", which is soon to be issued as a special edition, re-mastered, re-edited, single. Garcia has lent her vocals to the inaugural release of Gregory Del Piero's I Love You More on Del/Raisani Records, "In the Churches", which became an underground house classic. Recently released on the Detroit house music label, Strictly Beatdown Recordings, is the single, "Some Kind Of Effect On Me", a collaboration with legendary house music wizard, Agent X and Del Piero. DJ Rimarkable™ currently holds several residencies and teaches the ground breaking, award winning, DJ workshop in NYC, called, "The Alchemy of DJ-ing".
