Composer of Jazz
Musician, improvisor, composer, audio software creator born in Verona (Italy), currently based in Padua (Italy). He received a BD summa cum laude in Jazz Music & Improvisation by the Conservatory “G. Frescobaldi” in Ferrara, Italy, a MD in Electronic Engineering by University of Padua (Italy) in 2005 and then he specialized in Computer Music at IRCAM (Paris) with Mikhail Malt. From 2005 to 2010 he worked within the Sound and Music Computing Group at the University of Padua, focusing his research on Physically-based synthesis and multimodal interfaces. He attended workshops and masterclasses with John Taylor, Karl Berger, Mats Gustafsson, Yannis Kyriakides, Andy Moor (The Ex), Alessandro Bosetti, Ivan Fedele, Michael Jarrell, Scanner. He is active as an improvising musician in many projects, playing a range of reed instruments (alto and bass clarinet, clarinet, tenor saxophone) combined with electronics. He leads and co-leads several projects; among others, Oktopus Connection is an octet devoted to graphical-based improvisation. With drummer Riccardo La Foresta he founded the free improvisation project Sho Shin Duo. His music has been published by El Gallo Rojo Records, Setola di Maiale Label, AUT Records. He toured in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Poland, United States.
