'Morton Feldman, whose music we feel is unique in the musical history of the 21st century, has tremendously influenced the three of us in our own work. We therefore wish to pay homage to him on the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of his death in September 1987. Although each of us follows his own personal path in creating music, we find a common source of inspiration in Morton Feldman, and share our admiration for his sublime works.'
