Album UK 2010 on 12x50 label
Electronic (Minimal, Ambient)
The works assembled on Carbon Series 7 unite Richard Ginns' interest in visual arts and sound. Abstract painter Mark Rothko and Hiroshi Sugimotoʼs enchant- ing Japanese minimalism have inspired these works with Ginns stating “both played a significiant role in my approach to sound in particular their use of colour and minimalism”. The first four tracks of the work could be viewed as an extended player that medi- ates and reflects upon seasonal changes and the colours expressed dur- ing natureʼs transitions. “...my aim was to combine and merge the visual with the acoustic – inviting the listener into their own interpretation of the sounds.”
