On this album you will find stories from the wild wild blues... We were most inspired by Fred McDowell and RL. Burnside from The Northers Mississippi area. Leadbelly gave us Black Betty and Laura Dukes introduced us to Stagger Lee Blues. At the very end they did actually find Blind Arthur Blake. Our aim was not to master any blues styles, rather we tried to capture the feel of some legendary musicians. Most of the songs on this album have traveled far from the original source. Ringhold is an adventure for the sender and the receiver... Ringhold released their first album in April 2016 – a web release and a hand-made limited edition sleeve, containing two photos by photographer Reimo Võsa-Tangsoo and a usb flash drive with the music. Musically the album consists of two originals and six old blues classics specially and gently reconstructed. Track no. 3: traditional, inspiration – Leadbelly Track no. 4: inspiration – the hoo doo man Track no. 5: traditional, inspiration – Little Laura Dukes Limited to 50 copies
