Musician / Composer / Arranger / Conductor of Jazz and Pop
Pianist, organist, composer, arranger, conductor. Born in Amsterdam on December 1st, 1943. Started studying the piano at 8, followed by 6 years church organ, musical history and harmonizing for his organist diploma. Has an S.N.K.-diploma as choir conductor and started his own trio in 1960. Introduced gospel music in The Netherlands and recorded a foursome of albums for CBS with his vocal group "The Rivals" and other artists like Milly Scott, his brother Louis and later Rogier van Otterloo and the Metropole Orkest. As conductor, pianist, organist, arranger or choir conductor he cooperated in about 200 albums, CDs and many TV shows and programs. He is one of the three regular organists in the "Alledagkerk" in the English Church at the Begijnhof in Amsterdam. Runs his own company Rob van Dijk Productions and conducts five choirs in the metropolitan area of The Netherlands, for which is he also writes the arrangements.
