Musician of Jazz
A.k.a. Robert Chr. van Kreeveld
Rob van Kreeveld started playing the piano when he was nine years old. Canadian jazz pianist Oscar Peterson had been a great influence on him early on. April 1960 Rob van Kreeveld went to Germany with the now legendary Dutch Indorock group The Black Dynamites to perform at the many rock & roll clubs over there. This was the start of his career as a profesional musician. Together with the Black Dynamites he recorded a few records in Belgium for Show Records in 1963. Rob van Kreeveld studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague from 1963 to 1967 and in 1964 he joined cabaret Pepijn with Paul van Vliet (2) as both a pianist as well as the artistic (band)leader. In 1979 he was appointed to teach the piano (jazz and light music, combo classes, rhythm section-classes) at the Rotterdam Conservatory and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Visiting professor in Dworp (Belgium), Helsinki (Finland), Boston (USA), Liechtenstein. He has worked with Stan Getz, Denise Jannah, Greetje Kauffeld, Joe Lovano, Joe Pass, Rita Reys, Woody Shaw, Toots Thielemans, and others.
